Turns out that when you couple the time you spend sending it out with the lost opportunities, it is not so cheap after all.</p>

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, with thousands of people displaced or homeless, I&#8217;m appalled by the thought that it is of such concern by marketers to get their [mail] to these people. Unless you&#8217;re sending them mail that is critical to their survival, you should be ashamed of yourselves. To go to such lengths as remote sensing to find out which areas would be more likely to be able to receive mail so a retailer can send them useless garbage is really, really low. I have been a direct marketing professional for close to 30 years and yet I find this reprehensible.</p>
